These terms are the agreement between you and Light My Career ("we", "us") for using www.lightmycareer.com and its AI Career Coach. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
1. Who can use Light My Career
You must be 13 or older. If you are under 18, please use the site with a parent or guardian's permission.
2. What we provide
Career matches, fields of study, college and program information, admission chance estimates, job postings and AI coaching, based on your answers and public data such as the College Scorecard and the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
- Estimates, not guarantees. Match scores, admission chances, pay ranges and job fit are estimates made with AI and public data. They can be wrong and are not a promise of admission, a job or any income.
- Not professional advice. We are not a licensed counselor, financial advisor or admissions office. Check important decisions with the school, employer or a professional.
- Job postings and school details come from other websites. We do not control them; apply and confirm details on the original site.
3. Your account
- Keep your login safe and tell us if you think someone else is using your account.
- Give answers that are true to you; your results depend on them.
- You can download your data or delete your account anytime on Your data. Deleting is immediate and cannot be undone.
4. Fair use
Please do not:
- break the law or anyone's rights using the site;
- try to get into accounts or systems that are not yours, or disrupt the site;
- copy our data in bulk, scrape the site, or resell what it produces;
- use the AI Career Coach to create harmful, hateful or misleading content.
We may limit or close an account that does these things.
5. Your content
What you enter (answers, resume text, chats) stays yours. You let us use it to run the service for you, as the Privacy policy describes. We do not sell it.
6. Privacy and analytics
We count anonymous page views and a few actions to improve the site, with no name, email or account id. It is on by default and you can turn it off on Your data. Older results replaced by new ones are archived for 30 days and then deleted. The Privacy policy has the details.
7. Our content
The site, its design and its text belong to us or our licensors. Public data we show stays under its own terms.
8. Changes and availability
We may change or pause features, and update these terms. When we make an important change we will update the date above and, for account holders, tell you by email or in the app.
9. Limits of our responsibility
The site is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for decisions you make based on it, or for losses that come from using it.
